Mr. Vazquez has practiced in international trade and industrial
regulations for over 40 years. He was advisor to the Minister of
the Treasury in 1981 and General Director for Foreign Trade
Services through 1982-86. In addition to this, Mr. Vazquez was
Mexican negotiator to GATT accession. Before participating with
the Mexican government in trade related matters, from 1982-88.
Mr. Vazquez was creator, member of the Board of Directors and
first President of a number of industrial associations and

Law. Mr. Vazquez is member of the Center for International Legal
Studies in Austria, international associate of the ABA, where he
is Chair of the Customs Subcommittee in the Mexican Law
Committee (Section of International Law and Practice) and
founder member of the International Trade Practices Consultants
Association (ACOPRACI) in Mexico. Mr. Vazquez handles the vis-vis
relations with U.S. and Brazil. He is appointed by the
government of Mexico to the Roster of Panelist for NAFTA’s

Of counsel. Mr. López
Portillo holds a Licenciatura en Derecho (LL.B.) from the
National University of México and LL.M. from New York University
School of Law.
Mr. López Portillo rose through the ranks of the International
Legal Department of Banco Nacional de México, S.A. (Banamex) in
Mexico City, where he headed the legal department of the bank’s
insurance affiliate; advised several joint venture transactions,
issuances in the U.S. and Europe, asset securitization,
commercial credit and capital finance transactions, and other
transactional matters.
Mr. López Portillo was the managing partner of Lopez Portillo
Abogados in Guadalajara, Jalisco, From Guadalajara, Mr. López
Portillo lead Mexican counsel during cross-border acquisitions,
financing of public works, arbitral and mediation procedures,
and other corporate matters.
Mr. López Portillo is a member of the International Bar
Association and of The United States-Mexico Law Institute.
Mr. López Portillo is fluent in English and Spanish. |

practiced in international trade for over 25 years. She
developed work for many years in the Ministry of Commerce,
serving her last position as Dumping Sub-director through
1987-91. She serves as special advisor for several chemical

Associate. She holds
a LL.B. in International Trade from the ITESM, and has taken
courses on international affairs, the European Union and
intercultural communication at the Comillas Catholic University
(Universidad Pontificia Comillas) in Madrid. Before
joining our firm, Ms. Vázquez worked as Manager for
Correspondents at a customs brokerage firm in Mexico City. At
that position, she was responsible for traffic through several
customs ports, including, Veracruz, Manzanillo and Nuevo Laredo.
Ms. Vázquez conducts her practice in Spanish, English and
French.
